03/27/2023

Gratitude is more than just saying "thank you." It's a powerful force that can positively impact every aspect of our lives. Despite being readily available and free, it's often under-appreciated. However, when we cultivate gratitude, it can bring blessings, abundance, love, and positivity into our lives and the lives of those around us.

Being grateful can be challenging, especially when we're facing difficult circumstances. But with practice, we can learn to trigger this emotion and cultivate a grateful attitude. One effective way to do this is by reading inspiring quotes or affirmations about gratitude. It's amazing how a simple quote can shift our perspective and help us see things in a more positive light.

If you're looking for a source of inspiration or need to quickly shift your focus to positivity, here are some powerful gratitude quotes and affirmations that can ignite the spark of thankfulness within you. These words of wisdom can be used to write thank you cards or simply remind yourself to be grateful for all the blessings in your life.

Here are some great quotes about gratitude:

  • “You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” - Sarah Ban Breathnach

  • “It’s not happiness that makes us grateful; it’s gratefulness that makes us happy.” - David Steindl-Rastl

  • "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others." - Cicero

  • "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." - John F. Kennedy

  • "Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." - Marcel Proust

  • "Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul." - Amy Collette

  • "Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie

  • "The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see." - Mary Davis

  • "Gratitude is not a passive response to something we have been given, gratitude arises from paying attention, from being awake in the presence of everything that lives within and without us." - David Whyte

  • "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." - Melody Beattie

Hello Friends!

Hi, my name is Melissa Ebken, and I'm so glad you found your way here.

I help people like you to become grounded in their spiritual beliefs and practices, and grow in their faith. Connecting with the Divine is as natural as drawing a breath - yet sometimes we struggle to separate our intuition and imagination from genuine spiritual encounters, often believing those experiences are beyond our grasp. To begin, I will help you understand your spiritual personality so you can more easily engage with your Higher Power. Then, I will listen. I have found that having a "Holy Listener" allows you to explore your spiritual life and express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions related to your spirituality. Your connection, relationship, and communication with your Higher Power will broaden and deepen.

I have served churches for 25+ years and strive to support people as they grow spiritually and emotionally. I believe that our spiritual lives fuel our physical and emotional experience of life, and I seek to help others connect with their deepest and most authentic self. I began the fiLLLed spiritual direction program to create a safe space for people to explore their spirituality and grow their faith.
